Ruffin McNeill as ECU logo
I've really liked the "new" ECU football logo in the middle of Dowdy Ficklen. I like the pirate face and/or the pirate skull located inside the state of North Carolina. I thought it would be interesting to put Ruffin McNeill's face inside the state. It seems that every pirate fan loves Ruff as a coach and person, and he embodies exactly what he coaches. So why not have Ruff as the logo??? Since I've finished this painting, the Pirates have had 76 points scored on them by Navy, and two tough losses to Rice and SMU. Hopefully a bowl win will wash those bad memories away, and this painting will mean a little more to Pirate Nation.

Wade Jarman portrait at The Met Deli
During my search for what I was going to do professionally, I decided to see what kind of interest my artwork would create. I had a venue to show my work, the Tournament of State Champions at Elm St. Park, but no sports related artwork at the time. I contacted a Little League coach's wife, Kristen Jarman (owner of The Met Deli in Greenville, NC) and asked if I painted/drew her sons, would she display them at The Met. The painting, "Wade", is located to the right.

East Carolina University Pirate Club Auction
To try to "drum up" some business, I have created a painting to donate to the East Carolina University Pirate Club Auction taking place Sept. 10. The plan is; enough people will see the painting, like it immensely, and take a card (which the Pirate Club is allowing me to display) and commission a painting or drawing. Hopefully, the painting will sell for quite a few dollars. Dollars I will never see, but its the "buzz" is what I'm hoping to create.

Capture a memorable sports moment in an original work of art
I (Todd Boyd) am a 1999 East Carolina University School of Art Graduate with a concentration in Painting. For the past decade, I have painted and drawn portraits for family and friends while working in a Sporting Goods store and Officiating High School and College Sports. Now, I am combining two of my loves (Art and Sports) in creating toddboydart; artwork which captures memorable sports moments and sports portraits. I work from photographs due to most of my artwork involving action shots.
If you are interested in my work, or would like to commission an original work of art, please contact me at toddboydart@gmail.com. Different sizes and specifics of each piece dictates price. Please contact to discuss.
